Question
Have premarital credit card debt from AZ, a community property state.  Moved to New York and married.  Would my new wife be on the hook for that debt?

I pretty much stopped using the credit cards after marriage.  I might of charged 100 or so within the first couple weeks of our marriage and then completely stopped.  However, did I put her on the hook for the debt on the entire card by charging that 100 dollars to it?

Answer
Your wife should not be on the hook for that, but you should check with a family law attorney in New York to be sure.
