Question
Hello Terry, I had filed Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in 6-28-2005, and was discharged shortly after. Today I come home to find that a "Delinquency Notice" has been given to me via standard mail. The letter is from a debt collector through Cox Communications stating that I owe an outstanding balance from an account in 2-09-2005. The Cox Communication account was placed in my Chapter 7 on 6-28-2005, the day I filed. Am I liable for repaying this amount? I do not understand why it took this long to get to me? I appreciate any help that you can share. Thank you, Sincerely Jared.

Answer
Send them a copy of the discharge and a copy of schedule F show them a copy of schedule F.  That should be the end of it.  If they contact you again, you can sue them for violating the discharge.  Send them the info return receipt requested, that way you can prove that they received the information.
Thanks and good luck.
