Question
My bankruptcy discharged in 2/1998.  Do I have to wait 10 year to request the credit bureau to clear it out?  Thanks

Answer
Bankruptcy will stay on your credit report for up to 10 years.  You can contact the individual credit bureaus after the 10 years to be sure they have cleared the report. If they haven't, they will update the information then give you a free copy of the 'clean' report.
