Hello Mr. Markus -  I want to thank you in advance for answering my question.  My question is, in California how is the cable and internet service through the cable handled in a bankruptcy ?  Can they change my service (like cutting it off) after I file but before I get my discharge?  Do they treat cable and internet service like regular utilities (which I understand that they can't cut you off without giving you a chance to put up a new deposit)? Does it make any difference if I use the cable tv and internet for my work? And if they can't cut it off, what can a lawyer do to help me get it turned back on?

I have never heard of them cutting off service as long as you are current with the payments to them.  If you are not current, they have the right to terminate service and I don't believe they are treated like a regular utility, but I honestly have not researched that.
