Bankruptcy Law/Credit Report

Question
Hi Mark.  Our names are pronounced the same, by the way.  For a number of years I fought not to file bankruptcy, but finally gave in this year.  It is now a done deal and is good not to have creditors calling me all the time.  However, I went to a cell phone store about a month ago and they wanted $800 up front to do a contract for me.  I think that most of the bad stuff is still on my credit report and I have no idea of how to get it taken off.  Please give me some information on how to get these things removed so that I can start anew and build my credit up again.
Thank You,
Joseph Marques

Answer
Well, I am not an expert in credit repair.  If there is actually inaccurate information on your credit report, you can write the agencies and demand that it be corrected (or write to the offending creditors).  Otherwise, you may need to file a lawsuit against them for inaccurate reporting.   If you just in general need to rebuild your credit, there is a book that I've gotten positive feedback from my former clients on called "Bounce Back from Bankruptcy".   There is a link to order it from my website (bottom of the first page) at http://www.bklaw.com/   Perhaps it might be useful to you.
