Bankruptcy Law/Discharged Debt

Question
Hello.  I have a couple questions.  I filed bankruptcy in 2005, discharged in may 2005.  Several attempts letters etc has been done to update my credit file to include everything, it's just now being done so it's looking like bankruptcy was just done this year.  How can this be corrected?  I reported everything to the credit bureaus in 2005 and Transunion is just now listing it as 8/2007 making it look like i just filed.  (i realize the question is long and I thank you for your patience)  Also what about companies such as cable that did not reply to the initial bankruptcy claim, but want to collect for equipment from 2005?

Answer
The credit report should show the date of your bankruptcy case, and that should control.  If some of the items aren't showing correctly, the credit bureau has the duty to fix the error.
The cable company has the right to the equipment back, and can still hit you with a fee...they are entitled to the items back, or payment for the items (just like a car)
