Bankruptcy Law/Power of Attorney

Question
I'm active duty military stationed in South Korea.  I need to file under chapter 13, but can't from here.  Can I appoint my trusted friend to file for me with a special power of attorney?  Also, can my wages be garnished while serving overseas?  Thank You!

Answer
You can file while on active duty.  You should contact a bankruptcy attorney in your hometown where your jurisdiction will be. If you have signed a military power of attorney, that should be sufficient.  I am unsure if there is a rule to protect active military wage garnishments though.  Best of luck.
