Bankruptcy Law/How to Start?!

Question
Mr. Markus,

Thanks in advance for your attention to this. My fiancee has had a 'challenging' credit history to the extent that we believe personal bankruptcy appears to be the best course of action before we get married and join accounts/ownership, etc. I've done some preliminary research <i.e. - ordering credit reports, buying 'bankruptcy for dummies>. What I've learned thus far that this IS NOT something that should be taken on by someone uninformed of the legalities of this topic. With that, I'm having difficulty finding where/who to go to to discuss this matter. Can you recomend somewhere we can go where we can find someone who might be able to help us sort out the question of whether filing is the best way to go and answer those critical questions before the process gets started?

Answer
Sure, that's easy.  If your fiancee' lives in California, please have her visit my webpage at http://www.bklaw.com/consult.html and once she has gathered and submitted the necessary information , have her contact me to schedule a time for a free phone consult.
