Question
I live in Florida and my ex husband lives in Wisconsin, i recently found out he voluntarily surrendered a car to the bank, him and I both were on the auto loan which is at $16,890. He states he is filing bankruptcy, and my credit is being destroyed because of the bad debt auto loan.  He states that his lawyer told him that I cannot be affected due to the divorce papers stating that this car is his. How do I get this off of my credit report???

Answer
You need to enforce your divorce decree in divorce court to keep him responsible for the debt.  I would also send a copy of the divorce decree to the creditor showing where you are not to be responsible for the debt.  You can also contact the 3 credit bureaus and show then the evidence as well, they would correct errors in about 30 days and get you a clean report.
