Question
I filed for bankruptcy in 91' and have received a call from a creditor wanting payment.  This creditor was included in my judgment. I no longer have my judgment papers.  Is there a statue on how long creditors can try to collect, it's been 17 years! If I do need to get a copy what channels are necessary for me to take?

Answer
If you received a discharge in your bankruptcy case, the creditor is in violation of the post discharge injunction and you can seek to get contempt sanctions against him in the bankruptcy court.  I would suggest obtaining a copy of your discharge papers from the court and send him/her a copy with a demand to cease and desist.
