Question
I want to file for bankruptcy but dont have any of the paperwork for bills or loans.  Do I need them or is there a way to get all that info up some other way?  I was in a bad situation and the person took all the paperwork, said it was paid, and left me with no names of businesses which I now owe money.  As I now have a protection order against this person I can not go and ask for the papers (doubt this person has them still anyways).

Answer
Yes, you have to make a good faith effort to obtain the names and addresses of your creditors and to list your creditors in your bankruptcy papers.  One way to find them is to get your credit report.  That is not, of course, a complete list of who you owe money to, but it's probably a good starting point.
