Bankruptcy Law/getting pink slip on car

Question
I have a vehicle that was put on our bankruptcy in 2004.  The finance place did NOT come and take the car, though we said we didn't want to keep it.

This vehicle no longer runs.  How do I get rid of this vehicle or obtain the pink slip?  The company that we financed it through doesn't seem to want to deal with it.  They claim they wrote it off and don't even have a file for us.

What are my options?

Answer
This does happen upon occasion, usually when the vehicle is worth little to nothing.  They do not want to pick it up, because they won't recoup any money at sale.  Therefore, you can junk the vehicle, and can apply thru the secretary of state/dept of motor vehicles for a junk title.  The state would contact the lienholder first to see if they want it, if not, they will issue the junk title.
