Question
I filed bankrupcy in 2005 on a Student Loan and other debts.
I have received a notice of proposed treasury offset of Federal Income Tax Refund and other Federal and/or State Payments.  Also a request for Review form...on this form it has all kinds of Questions to answer. 1. I did not have a high school diploma or GED when they enrolled me in this school. 2. I filed bankrupcy.... I also have health problems. I can not afford them to garnish my wages from work, I am just getting by now....I did not benifit from that school, could not get a job, because I did not have a ged or high school diploma, didn't matter if I had a certificate indicating I took this course...pretty sad you are aloud to attend a suppose college without a high school diploma or GED.....what do I do

Answer
Lucy, You should indicate that you had filed bankruptcy.
I assume that you filed for Chapter 7.  Student loans are normally not dischargeable under chapter 7.  Therefore, you need to contact them to work out some type of payment plan.

If you did chapter 13, then they will be paid thru your case according to your bankruptcy plan.
