approximately what was the date the baptist denomination came into existence.
Historically speaking, Baptists were founded in 1609 in Amsterdam, Holland by a group of Separatists (dissenters from the Church of England) led by John Smyth and Thomas Helwys. A few Baptists today claim to trace Baptists back to John the Baptist ("Successionism"), but there is no historical basis to this claim.
