Question
Both my wife and I are divorced.  I don't think either of us can say that our spouses had an affair and the affair was the reason for our divorces.  What is the definitive answer about our marriage to one another.  Are we daily sinning by our remarriage.    I can tell you that because I could not say that my previous spouse had an affair I have sought God's forgiveness.

Answer
Herb,

Hope you don't mind, but another volunteer in this category placed your question in the "question pool" (an option we have to place question in that we cannot, or do not wish to answer), and I thought I might help.

First, let me quote from our what we believe page on our ministry site about this subject...

We believe that marriage was instituted by God, sanctioned by the Lord Jesus Christ, and commended by St. Paul; we believe that a Christian man or woman should not date or marry an unsaved person. And having once been united by God in holy matrimony, both are bound by Scripture and must follow it carefully. Each situation is weighed by Scripture. Scripture References: Mal. 2:10-16; 1 Cor. 7:10-16; Matt. 19:5-9; Luke 16:18; Heb. 13:4

As to your specific case, if you and your current wife have already re-married (and especially if your former spouses' have as well) then it is (to put it simply) too late to do anything but live for God from this point on. As the old saying goes "You can't un-scramble eggs". Once the eggs have been scrambled then there is no going back. All you can do now is make an omlete. Such would be your situation.

I suggest that both you and your wife totally and completely commit your lives to Christ. Not just in the "being saved" seance. But with every fiber of your being serve God. Do not allow the past to be you and your wife's gravestones, but stepping stones in your walk with Christ.

Herb, please let me know if this helps or if you have any further questions.

Experience

I attended a fundamental independent Baptist church for many years. While attending the church I learned the doctrines and beliefs of the Baptist movement. I now attend an independent Pentecostal church. I have served there as an Elder for fourteen years. I minister in song with the choir and worship team. I am also the new member’s class coordinator, men's ministry director, and the Harvest Riders motorcycle ministry president.
In 1993 the Lord called me to "...preach the Gospel where ever I open the door..." I have had the privilege of ministering God's Word to churches in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. In those meetings we have seen the Lord save, heal, deliver, and fill people will His Spirit.

Organizations
I am ordained through Harvest Church, and with the World Harvest Ministerial Fellowship. I also am a licensed minister with the State of Oklahoma.

Education/Credentials
I am currently enrolled with the Ames Bible College.
