Baptists/Southern Baptist vs General Baptis

Question
Dear Bruce,
I've been a member of a souther missionary baptist church my entire life.  My husband and I recently visited a general baptist church and really enjoyed the visitation.  We are concerned there may be a difference in belief and doctrine but don't know what the differences are.  My husband has always gone to a souther baptist church as well.  Can you help put our minds and hearts at ease?

Answer
Hello Kelley,

Although there will be some variance from local congregation to local congregation (as is also true in Southern Baptist life), you can view the General Baptist denomination's statement of faith here:

I hope this helps,
