Question
Hi,

I have a question about the theory of evolution.  I have heard that some Christians believe that God guided evolution.  Is that an acceptable belief according to evangelical Christianity?

Josh

Answer
Hi Josh,

Thanks for this great question.  Some evangelicals hold to something called Theistic Evolution.  They imagine that God started the process of evolution, but that He used evolution to create everything that is.

Fundamentalists, of which I am one, believe that if God's WOrd says that God created everything in six days, then He did.  That is what I believe.

Exo 20:11  For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

I hope that this helps you.

In Christ

I believe that every word of the Bible is God-Breathed. This blessed book is the foundation of truth for faith and practice. If you ask this volunteer a question you will receive an answer from the Bible that is based upon a litteral, normal interpretation, taking into account the grammar and culture of the time.

Experience

I have been in the ministry almost 20 years. During this time, the Lord has used me as Senior Pastor, counsellor, youth pastor and generally in the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry.
