Question
I want to get my child baptised, do both myself and my partner need to be baptised to do this? We are both the child's parents.

Answer
Baptist congregations practice believer's baptism, which means that baptism takes place following a personal confession of faith. Baptists do not do infant baptism, and rarely baptize children under the age of five, as baptism is a choice by an individual, based on one's public profession of faith. Sometimes, but rarely, are entire families baptized at the same time, and again, it is based on all the individuals making public professions of faith.

I hope this helps,
