Question
Based on the Bible, is it okay for a Christian musician to write songs that are not strictly worship?

Answer
Can he write a love song or patriotic ballad or something else that is edifying? Sure. We are to use our talents for God so as long as the songs are not ungodly he can write about life, love, the beauty of the world or some "secular" subject.  There are a lot of things in this world to write about and you can still get a gospel message or a praise into that subject matter.

May God guide you into honoring Him with your music regardless of subject matter.
