I'm sending this to several experts in order to receive several opinions.

Are you familiar with G.H. Pember's "Earth's Earliest Ages"? I've read it several times and it seems shed some light on the questions I asked in church as a child, but were never answered satisfactory. For example the fossiliferous record, giants, and books mentioned in the bible but not included(i.e. Jude 14). On the other hand, it shares some of the same viewpoints as the apocryphal "Book of Enoch". Coincidentally, the Book of Enoch that I have seen seems to actually match almost verbatim the verse in Jude. And now my questions. 1. If certain books were well known and, in the case above, actually quoted in scripture can we give some validity to its truth? 2. If you are unfamiliar with the referenced material, what is your opinion of the Nephilim or giants as they are in the KJV in regards to the "sons of God" and "the daughters of men". 3. Are you familiar with the "gap theory" of creation? I do not refute that everything that we know was created in six days, but it does seem that there could be an interval of any amount of time between the first and second verse of Genesis. I would appreciate your opinions on these matters as they seem to be common points of contention when discussing religion amongst non-believers.

  Don, thank you for your question. I have not read G.H. Pember’s book, but I am glad you enjoyed it. You asked “For example the fossiliferous record, giants, and books mentioned in the bible but not included(i.e. Jude 14). The Book of Enoch nor the Book of Jude is dealing with fossiliferous record or giants.
  Don you observed “On the other hand, it shares some of the same viewpoints as the apocryphal "Book of Enoch". Coincidentally, the Book of Enoch that I have seen seems to actually match almost verbatim the verse in Jude.” Don when you are reading Scripture all ways remember CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT. Always keep Scripture in the CONTENT it was written using literal historical-grammatical hermeneutics. With that in mind, now let’s show ourselves a “workman approved” and “rightly divide the word of truth” (2Ti 2:15).
  Jude 14 is referencing from Book of Enoch (1:9). The Book of Enoch was probably written prior to 110 B.C., and the Book of Jude was written somewhere between 60-64 A.D., because Apostle Peter borrowed from the Book of Jude in his 2 Peter Epistle and he died in 67 A.D. So the Book of Jude had to be written before 67 A.D. and Peter’s death. Also we know that it had to be written also before 70 A.D., which is the date the  fall and destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans took place, and Jude would definitely made reference to that fall in his book. So the 60-64 A.D. date assigned to the writing of Jude will stand up on both accounts.
   Enoch 1:9 states “And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones To execute judgment upon all, And to destroy all the ungodly: And to convict all flesh Of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed, And of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
   Jude 14-16 states “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling [words], having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.”
    Enoch’s prophecy points to the glorious return of the LORD to the earth with 10,000 holy one to execute judgment upon all, destroy the ungodly, convict all flesh of their works of ungodliness with they have committed, and their hard things they have spoken against the LORD.
   Jude is convicted with diligence to write “unto you of the common salvation” which is born again believers to earnestly contend for the faith (vs 3). Because there are false teachers or certain men who crepted in unawares into the Church and they are ungodly men who are “turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ” (vs 4). [Don, note you see vs. 4 all the time in cults like the FLDS in El Dorado, Tx].  David Guzik states that these men come in unaware and this “in part, is what makes them so dangerous – they are unnoticed. No one noticed that they were dangerous. They didn’t wear a “Danger: False Teacher” name tag. These certain men probably claimed to be more Biblical than anybody else was.” Jude goes onto say these ungodly false teachers are “turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” Guzik goes on to state “These certain men deny the Lord Jesus Christ. They do this by refusing to recognize who Jesus said He was, and therefore they also deny who God the Father is also.”
   Jude goes on to call these false teachers who crept in unaware and denied the Lord who bought them as filthy dreamers. These filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities (vs. 7) even as Sodom and Gomorrah gave themselves over to fornication and strange flesh (vs. 6). Michael the Archangel does not make railing accusations against Godly things (vs. 9) like these false teachers do who  speak evil of those things which they know not; acting like brute beasts (vs. 10). Woe unto these false teachers and Christians who have gone astray just gone in the way of Cain, gone in the error of Balaam for greedy reward, and then perished in the gainsaying of Core (vs. 11).
    With this said. Don, you can see Jude’s talking about false teachers and/or false Christians who have crept in the Church and caused corruption, living lives of lasciviousness and calling it grace, and then denying the Lord Jesus who died for them. Jude is talking about what was PRESENTLY GOING ON IN THE CHURCH IN HIS TIME of 60-60 A.D., which is going on NOW  also. Enoch is talking about the return of the LORD to bring judgment upon an ungodly world, and this is FUTURE. The judgment in Enoch and in Jude is similar.
    Enoch states in 1:9 states “He (THE LORD) cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones To execute judgment upon all (WHO HAVE LIVED THROUGH THE TRIBULATION), And to destroy all the ungodly” (AT THE END OF THE TRIBULATION). “And to convict all flesh Of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed, And of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
    Jude in verse 14 states the just about the same thing “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints.” So he states the same 10,000 angels are coming with the LORD.  In verse 15 it states “To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” Enoch uses the verbs DESTROY and then CONVICT all flesh of all the works of their ungodliness which they have ungodly committed in 1:9 which shows a judgment of finality which would be present at White Throne Judgment of the unsaved. Jude verse 15 says nothing about destroy the ungodly but to “convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed.” The verb convince is exelegchō in the Greek which means to prove to be in the wrong, refute, or confute. Jude verse 15 is saying that the LORD will execute judgment not of finality to eternal fire (as in Enoch 1:9) but of refuting, confuting or proving the ungodly of being wrong in all of their ungodly deeds which the ungodly have committed, which is showing the LORD’S compassion of showing them of their ungodly ways and not judging them eternally. Who are these who are ungodly that God is proving wrong is the false teacher and false Christians who have come into the Church and Jude 16 calls them “murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling [words], having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.”
   So Jude did use words of Enoch 1:9 but not exactly verbatim, but the purpose of the Prophesy of Enoch is different then the purpose of verse 15 of Jude.  
   Don, you are right somewhat in stating “Coincidentally, the Book of Enoch that I have seen seems to actually match almost verbatim the verse in Jude.” The two writers are almost the same, but not exactly. And God is Sovereign and everything He does is for a reason, and HE DOES NOTHING AS COINCIDENTIAL. Their purposes in writing are different.
      QUESTION #1
      If certain books were well known and, in the case above, actually quoted in scripture can we give some validity to its truth. You bet you can count on their validity in the purpose of which God allowed them to be written. Jude quoted from the ancient book of Enoch was not received as Scripture. Guzik states “Jude did not quote from Enoch to tell us anything new, but to give a vivid description of what the Bible already teaches. The Apostle Paul also quoted non-Biblical sources on at least three different occasions (Acts 17:28, 1 Corinthians 15:33 and Titus 1:12). This wasn’t to proclaim a new truth, but to support an already established Biblical principle. Jude’s quoting of the book of Enoch doesn’t mean that the whole book of Enoch inspired Scripture - only the portion Jude quotes. In the same way, when Paul quoted a pagan poet, he didn’t mean that the entire work of the poet was inspired by God.”
  Paul in 1 Cor. 10:4 made use of a Hebrew commentary (the Midrash) to support his interpretation of Israel’s wilderness wanderings. In Acts 17:28 and Titus 1:12, he quoted from pagan poets to support some of his assertions. Through we do not know where the names Jambres come from (2 Tim. 3:8), Paul did not hesitate to use their story as an example of godlessness for Timothy.
  The quoting from other sources in Scriptures does not affect the doctrine of inspiration or inerrancy of Scripture.
    QUESTION #2
    “If you are unfamiliar with the referenced material, what is your opinion of the Nephilim or giants as they are in the KJV in regards to the "sons of God" and "the daughters of men."
    Nephilim is the Hebrew for the offspring of the sons of God and daughters of men. But one has to understand who are the giants, where did they come from, why did they come upon the earth, and what happened to them.
    In Gen. 3:15, God gave the first prophesy of the bible “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Note that we when we have a bruised heel it hurts to walk, we limp a little, but we continue on with our activities we are not defeated because of it. So Satan only bruised the heel of the seed of woman which was the Lord Jesus. What happens when you step on the head of a snake? You crush his head and he dies. This is Jesus did on the Cross was completely defeated Satan.
   To understand about the sons of God, you have to remember the “I WILL PUT ENMITY BETWEEN THEE (Serpent) and the woman, AND THY SEED (SATAN’S SEED) AND HER SEED (JESUS CHRIST). The seed of the serpent will be important in understanding who the sons of God are.
       GOD CREATED ANGELS BEFORE HE CREATED ADAM!
  Ezk. 28: 14 “Thou [art] the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.” Satan is the anointed cherub that God was going to put on the holy mountain of God. But Ezk. 28:17 states “Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.” So God casted Satan to the ground because of his corruption, pride and beauty.
   Lk. 10:18 states “And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.”
   Rev. 12:4 states “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.” Here Satan and 1/3 of his angels were cast to the earth. These are called the FALLEN ANGELS.
    1658 years had passed from Gen. 3:15 to Gen. 6:1 in time of Noah. Something happened. Gen. 6:1-4 states “And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they [were] fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also [is] flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown.”  Don three things to get out of Gen. 6:1-4 are 1) there were giants on the earth, 2) they were born to the daughters of men, and 3) the sons of God came into the daughters of men and produced giants. The sons of god were not giants but they produced giants when they had intercourse with the daughters of men.
    WHO ARE THE SEED OF THE SERPENT AS STATED IN GEN. 3:15? THEY ARE THESE GIANTS or NEPHILIM, which was born when the sons of God came into the daughters of men. IN OTHER WORDS THE SEED OF THE SERPENT ARE THE GIANTS.
    By time the Israelites in Numbers 13:33 saw the giants for the first time,  the Giants dwelled all over the Canaan land and 13:33 states “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, [which come] of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” And they were afraid of the sons of ANAK.
    HEBREW NAMES FOR THESE RACE OF GIANTS:
ANAKIMS, EMIMS, REPHAIMS, AVIMS, AND ZAMZUMMINS.
    Deut. Chapter 2 speaks of the of the ANAKIMS which dwelled in Hebron and Anak. Num. 13:33 speak of the sons of ANAK.
  Deut. 2:10-11 speak of the giants called EMIMS which dwelled in the country beyond the Jordan River.
     So Don, this shows there were a large number of giants in the land at the  
  Deut. 2:20-21 speaks of giants called ZAMZUMMINS which dwelled in now what we call the country of JORDAN.
  Deut. 3:1 speaks of the giant King Og of BASHAN who was reported that his bed was 18 ft long.  Bashan today would all of the Golan Heights in Israel. Deut. 3:13 called the Land of Bashan the Land of the Giants.
  Josh. 12:4-5 tells of remnant of giants that dwelt at Ashtaroth and Edrin.
  Josh. 15:8 speaks of giants in North country.
  The giants called REPHAIEM occupied what is now Jerusalem and the Valley of REPHAIEM.
  The giants called AVIMS dwelt around the Mediterranean coast.
  So at that this biblical time, the giants had a presence in all gates leading into the Promised Land.
     So Don, this shows there were a large number of giants in the land at the time of Numbers 13:33 where Israel was afraid to go into the Promised Land because they looked like grasshoppers up next to the giants. These giants were usually 12-18 feet tall.

   WHERE DID THE GIANTS COME FROM?
   UNIVERSAL BELIEF #1: There was a universal flood that hit the entire earth.
    A). Ancient Sumarian account in are of Southern Iraq 5,000 BC had a population of 10-50,000 people. There were 3 clay tablets that were found with ancient cuneiform writing on 60 pieces of tablets that Archeologist found in town of Nipor which is 90 miles south of Baghdad which told of a world wide flood.
    There were 6 columns found are of Sirpeck which that a man built a large boat.
      B). Babylonian version of the flood- Called the Epic of Gilamesh which was are 13 tablets with cuneiform writing which give list of names of men back in that day, and tells of a man building a boat, landed on a mountain, and sent out a dove.
      C). Other versions of the flood: People of Iceland had a belief that a flood of blood flooded the earth because it was gushing out of a giant’s wound.
        Chinese and Japanese have their own account of the flood.
        So do South Pacific islands, Australia aborigines have their account also.
      UNIVERSAL BELIEF #2: There was a race of giant men who were the product of god’s coming to the earth.
      A). Secular Evidence:
1.   Cuneiform Tables from Ur are tablets “which are the oldest book of mankind tell without exception of god’s who came from the stars possessed terrible weapons and returned to the stars.”
2.   The AKKADIN TABLETS state “in both the Sumerian and Akkadian tablets, the god’s are connected with the stars. Stars are pictured in Akkadian tablets as we might draw them today. These stars are circled by planets of various sizes.”
3.   THE EPIC OF GILAMISH- is 5,000 yrs old and tells of a hero of the city of Ureh. The “gods of Heaven” stood guard on the wall. The hero was a mixture of man and God. Those who came gazed on the strength of the man.
B). BELIEFS OF OTHER CULTURES:
1.   THE ESKIMOS BELIEVE that the first tribes were brought North by the “gods” with brazen wings. The God’s were able to recognize everything. The universe, the four cardinal points of the compass, even the shape of the earth.”
2.   INCAS INDIANS BELIEVE: The taught the stars were inhabited and the god’s came down from the constellations. The same idea as that taught in Summerian, BayBlonian, and Egyptian cuneiform writings. The God’s came from the stars and returned to them in fire stirps.
3.   THE MAYAN INDIANS BELIEVE: They taught their ancestors were paid a visit from the gods. They were given knowledge and told the gods would one day return. When the Indians built their large pyramids and buildings, their god would return and live among them again. The Mayan Indians have the best calendar in the ancient world and dates back to 3111 BC.
4.   SUMMARIAN TABLET: states “And then the flood and after the flood Kingship came down form heaven once again.”
     But these are the two universal beliefs about the flood. There are many other references but you can get the idea that the flood was a universal idea and the sons of god came down dwelled among men as evidenced in different cultures cited.

    B’NAI ELOHIM- is Hebrew which means “sons of God.” Scholars elude to that this is referring to angels of God.
    This is seen in Job 38:4-7. Job 1:6 is actually stating angels in Heaven and Satan came to the throne of God.
    Dan. 3:25, Job 2:1, Gen. 5:2, 4, Psalm 21:9 refer to the “sons of God.”
     Book of Enoch is acknowledged book by Jews and early Church fathers but is not an INSPIRED BOOK but still needs to give credence of what is says. In Chapter 7:1-2 states “It happened after the sons of men had multiplied in those days that daughters of men wee born to them, elegant and beautiful. And when the angels, sons of heaven, beheld them, they became enamored of them, saying to each other, come, let us select for ourselves wives from the progeny of men, and let us beget children.”
     7:10-12 states “Then they took wives, each for himself, whom they began to approach, and with whom they cohabited; teaching them sorcery, incantations, and the dividing of roots and trees. And the women concerning brought forth giants. Whose stature was each three hundred cubits. They devoured all which the labor of men produced; until it became impossible to feed them.” So the sons of god were fallen angels who took the daughter of men and developed giants.
      Chapter 8:1-9 tells how these different giant leaders taught man each a different sin or perversion.
      IN SUMMARY: 1). Angels came down to earth in the form of flesh to teach men righteousness. Biblical references states “god’s came down to earth.” 2). The fallen angels became attracted to women and had intercourse with them. The offspring was a race of giants (Nephilim you asked about) in Hebrew means giants. 3). Their offspring ruled and taught wickedness to men. THIS IS WHY GOD BROUGHT THE FLOOD OF NOAH (Gen. 6).


      STUDY OF FALLEN ANGELS
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TEACH ABOUT THE RACE OF FALLEN ANGELS?
A). Jude 1:6 states “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”
B). 2 Peter 2;4 states “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast [them] down to hell, and delivered [them] into chains of
darkness, to be reserved unto judgment.” Hell here means Tarsus. God had these fallen angels removed from the earth chained unto judgement of hell (Tarsus). This group of FALLEN ANGELS are bound in Hell are the angels who fell and became the sons of God and had sex with the daughters of men.
C. Rev. 12:4 states “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.” These fallen angels are not the same who came down before the flood of Noah. These fallen angels fell with Satan in 12:4 and are called Satan and his angels, and are ACTIVE DURING THE TRIBULATION PERIOD. D). Eph. 6:12 states “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].” This is 1/3 of the angels that fell with Satan became rulers of darkness, against spiritual wickedness in high places, principalities, and power. These are the angels that was kicked out with Satan before the foundation of the earth, but do not get mixed up with the 1/3 of angels who were kicked out of heaven during the tribulation period. These are two different groups of fallen angels.
   THIS GIVES US THREE GROUPS OF ANGELS TO BE SPECIFIC: 1). Angels that are still with God is  2/3 and good angels doing God’s work. 2). Angels that are bound under the earth (2 Peter 2:4, Jude 1:6) are called fallen angels. 3). Angels that are presently working with Satan (Rev. 12:4 for the tribulation period only, Eph. 6:12).

BIG QUESTION TO BE ASKED. HOW CAN ANGELS COME TO EARTH, TAKE ON FLESH, AND HAVE INTERCOURSE WITH DAUGHTERS OF MEN? THREE PARTS:
I). Angels are spirits and they are invisible. (Psa. 104:4, Heb. 1:14 (angels are ministering spirits).

II). Angels can and do take upon themselves the forms of humans;
  Heb. 13:2 states “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Angels can take form of humans in the flesh, come as strangers,  and no one is aware of it. “Unawares” means to be without knowing or to be hidden.
   Matthew 3:16 states the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus in form of a dove. So the Holy Spirit took the form of dove in this instance.
   Gen. 18:2   3 angels looked like men.
   Gen. 19:1    2 angels came to Lot in Sodom sat in the gate.
   Gen. 32:24-30   Jacob wrestled wit an angel who took on flesh like a man.
   Point: Date Annotated Bible New Testament, p. 225 refers to 104 appearances of angels to men and women.

III). Can angels function as human beings when they take upon themselves human flesh?
    John 1:14 states the Word was made flesh. Jesus became a man.
    Jn. 8:58 Jesus says I was before Abraham as I AM.
    Heb. 2:18; 4:15 shows that Jesus was tempted as we are tempted but was without sin.
    Matthew 4:1-10, Jesus was tempted with lust of the flesh, lust of eyes, and pride of life. THESE ARE THE SAME TOOLS SATAN USES TO TEMPT MAN.
    Gen. 18:1-8 Angels ate with Abraham, Ex. 24:11 God came down as angel and ate with the 70 elders of Israel.
    So fallen angels called the seed of Satan came as sons of God and had intercourse with the daughters of men and gave offsprings that were giants or Nephilim.
IV). Why did God allow Satan to be in the Garden of Eden. Answer: 1). Sin was already in the universe due to Satan being the Anointed cherub and Satan sinned, and was a fallen being as a result. 2) God had to given man a choice.
         
V). Why did God allow the fallen angels to come down. Answer: The fallen angels did not come down in a fallen state. There is no biblical record of these angels coming in a fallen state. These angels came down to teach men righteousness, they became as flesh and fallen and the sons of God lusted after the daughters of men and at the time of the flood God took them.
   After the flood of Noah, 200 angels came down on Mt Hermon to teach man righteous again. They became fallen again to the flesh and had sex with the daughters of men and developed giants again. This is where we see David fighting Goliath, as he (Goliath) came out of these 200 angels who fell. All of the giants that came out of these 200 fallen angels were killed by David.
   NOTE; The fallen angels of Rev. 12:4 are not the same fallen angels who came down before the flood of Noah.

VI). People ask that in Matthew 22:30 it states “For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in Heaven.” How do angels have sex if they do not marry in Heaven. Answer: the angels in Heaven are spirit beings (PSA. 104:4). Angels were also spirit beings when they were sent to teach men righteousness before flood of Noah and could not have sex, but they lusted after  daughters of men, became in a fallen state in the flesh, and had sex with the daughters of men.

VIII). Why did Satan try to corrupt mankind by bringing a race of giants? Answer: Giants are the seed of the serpent (as mentioned in Gen. 3:15). THE PURPOSE OF THE GIANTS WAS TO PREVENT THE COMING OF THE MESSIAH BY CORRUPTING MAN’S LINEAGE AND TO MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE MESSIAN TO BE BORN. REMEMBER THE GIANTS WERE TEACHING SUCH PERVERSION AND CORRUPTION OF THE LINEAGE OF THE MESSIAH THAT GOD BECAME ANGRY AND SENT THE FLOOD TO WIPE THEM OUT.

IX). If the early church knew that the sons of gods was fallen angels and went into the daughters of men and produced giants or Nephilim, and this is an accepted teaching why did it change in 4 th Century AD.
  Reference: Wilmington’s guide in the Bible (Fallen angels and giants), pg 23. “This was the interpretation of the early church; it was not until the fourth century that another view opposed the angels of God theory was offered. Dr. James M. Grey (former President of Moody Bible Institute) wrote: ‘There is reason to believe this would not have changed had it not been for certain erroneous opinions and practices of Christendom.”
   The view that angels dwell in daughters of men stood until 400 AD when Juluis Abjcanous gave a different teaching in Roman Catholic Church because in 400 AD angel worship was great in the Catholic Church, so they provided a different teaching because they were afraid of the Roman Catholic church would go into EXTREME ANGEL WORSHIP.
    The Roman Catholic Church was teaching celibacy. Priests had to be celibate and not marry.
     They reason if the Sons of God became human and failed, then this would mean a monk could fail. But problem is the monks and Catholic did fail. Look at church history and you will see homosexuality was present all through church history. And it is still present. Look at all the children that priest have molested and came to the forefront.
   So they changed the theory from being the sons of God to the sons of Seth and daughter of Cain.

XI). If the giants could die before the flood, did they die after the flood? There could have been 1,000 to 100,000 giants at the time of God allowed the flood to take place.  
     After the flood, 200 angels came down on top of Mt. Hebron and corrupted themselves again.
      King David would be the one to kill all of the giants 3000 years ago. 2 Sam. 21:22.
      There was five giants in the land at the time of David:
   1). Goliath  (1 Sam. 17:4).
   2).  Lahmi     (1 Chronicles 20:5).
   3). Ishbibanob  (2 Sam. 21:16).
   4).  Suph        (2 Sam. 21:18)   
   5).  Gath     (1 Chronicles 20:6).

  Goliath was killed by David in 1 Sam. 17:49-51. The giant Ishbibanob was killed by Abishai the son of Zeruiah in 2 Sa 21:17. In 2 Sam. 21:18, Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Saph. In 1 Chronicles 20:5, Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi. Finally, in 1 Chronicles 20:6-7, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him who was Gath.  

    Satan became so mad because David and his mighty men had killed last of the five giants that in 1 Chronicles 21:1 states “And Satan stood up against Israel and provoked David to number Israel.” Satan stood up against David and Israel.  Satan moved or provoked David yet the LORD expressly allowed it as a chastisement against David.

    Don, you ask “Are you familiar with the "gap theory" of creation?

   The Gap Theory is also called The Original Creation Theory, ruin-Reconstruction Theory, and Cauiotic-Creation Theory. The Gap Theorist believe that an indefinite period of time existed between the original creation and the present re-creation. This is an attempt to accommodate the long period of Evolutionary Geology.
    Helen Fryman believes:
    “The gap theory postulates that between Gen. 1:1 and 1:2 there was an entirely different creation which, some claim, was wiped out by a "Satan's Flood," and after which the earth was re-formed and the six days of Genesis creation commenced. The gap is said to have involved great eons of time. This gap theory was formed in response to the uniformitarian idea of long ages first applied by geologists in the nineteenth century. The gap theory is contradicted by the Bible itself on a number of counts.
    1. Genesis 1:2 gives us a list of three qualities: the earth was formless and empty; darkness covered it; and the Holy Spirit was hovering, or vibrating (same word in the Hebrew) over the waters. No Hebrew historical narrative starts with a list of qualities. The explanation ALWAYS follows the general statement of where the history starts or is headed. Thus, Genesis 1:2 would be rightly seen as an explanation of the earliest moments following the creation of the time/space/mass continuum in Genesis 1:1.  
    2. 2 Pet. 3:5 states clearly that the earth was formed out of water and by water. No reference is made to land preceding that, which is what the gap theory proposes.
    3. Ezekiel 28:12-17 is generally considered a "double" passage containing a parenthetic pertaining to Satan as well as an address to the king of Tyre. In it, the being referred to was in Eden as a blameless guardian cherub. If you cross reference this passage to the passage that is clearly regarding Satan in Isaiah 14:12-15, you will see a parallel structure which really cannot be denied. There are a series of "I will's" in Isaiah answered by the corresponding actions of the Lord in return in Ezekiel. This being the case, Satan, or Lucifer as he was originally, could not have been in rebellion before Eden was formed and therefore there was no "Satan's Flood' which could have destroyed a world he had corrupted in some sort of gap between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2.
    4. In the Fourth Commandment, Exodus 20:11, it is clearly stated that the heavens, the earth, the seas, and all that is in them were created in six days.
    So the gap theory does not hold where the rest of the Bible is concerned. Geologically and archaeologically this would not be valid, either, for the world destroyed in the "Satan's Flood" would NOT be the fossilized world the gap theorists often postulate. The fossil strata we know would have been utterly destroyed by NOAH's flood had they been from an earlier time.”
