Baptists/Disappointment in New Heaven & Earth

Question
My question is about -
http://bible-truth.org/Judgment.html#Judgment
"As Paul put it we will judged according to how we ran the race of this Christian life."

This seems to be saying that some will be rewarded more than others in the New Place, i.e. New Heaven and New Earth - some kind of proportionate reward system. This provides an incentive to do "better" in this life, but is not at all the wholly unmerited grace that is spoken of elsewhere. Also, I expect there will be no envy or jealousy in the New Place, so those who are "tail-enders" or "also rans" will not be at all disappointed that their reward is less than those who crossed the finishing line before them. Or will the New Place contain partly disappointed people?

Answer
Hi Mike,

Hope you are Ok and thank you for this question, it is one asked many times, I do not pretend to know all the answers but will do my best for you.

The way I see it is that those who live in Christ and have given themselves to Christ, bearing in mind that none of us are perfect, will go straight to the Lord, in the new place. Those that are "tail enders" and as you call "also rans" will be given chance to sit the second judement you see God loves us all and he wants all of us to go to his Kingdom, as Christians we have to help with this by taking the Gospel to people, hoping they will listen, God does not want any one failing and left behind.

By saying doing better in this life, the only thing we must try to do is do better in the eyes of the Lord, he is not interested in riches and wealth of a material kind.

We can only hope that there is no jealousy or envy there, these emotions have caused enough problems here, the new place will I am sure have no negative emotions.

We have been lucky to have lived life here in Christ those that do not have no idea how blessed we are or what they are missing, they might realise that when they get to the new place, but at the same time, we have all had disappointments in our life here, so it would be great to think that there will not be any dissapointed people there and that we will just be the children of God.

I hope this helps Mike.

God Bless

Expertise

I can answer most questions on the subject of the Baptist/Christian faith. I am an active member of a Baptist Church Fellowship. I study the Bible and the Scriptures every day and have no problem talking to people about this. I am more than happy to answer the Lord's calling and help and support all people that are in need. I believe that is now my role in life.

Experience

Some times people go the wrong way in life because they have been let down by those that are close to them. It is all about trust, compassion and support. I carry out a lot of outreach work, so I know how important these things are to be able to reach people. I have worked with drug addicts and the homeless, as well as young people who have lost their way in life or are in prison.

Past/Present Clients
I do not call them clients, they are people in need of the love of God and of people. I have mentored many young people, including those that are in our local prison, to hopefully live an honest and Christian life.
