    Thank you for your question and for your patience.
    Those verses simply say that God finished the work of creation so He rested--not because He was weary and needed a day off, but because chose to take some time to reflect on what He had done.
    To answer your question more directly, yes, Saturday--the seventh day--has been recognized as the Jewish Sabbath.  I have dealt in previous posts with the subject of whether Christians today should recognize the Jewish Sabbath as a day of worship for us.
