Baptists/spiritual cleansing of the church house
Expert: Rev. Robert Woods - 2/18/2009
QuestionQUESTION: Our church is under attack from Satan. We are in transition under and interim pastor. Is there a biblical ritual or practice we may do to protect our church from this? Our former pastor had anointed the doors before and we have done prayer walks. I would love any suggestions on how to outwardly by faith, as a congregation of true believers, show we mean business.
ANSWER: Blessings and thank you for your question.
Without knowing the specifics of the attacks, I can tell you that you should do a few things.
1. Pray- you need to pray in unity and in the name of Jesus against the attacks. Pray specifically, ask for supernatural protection, ask for angelic assistance, and ask God to shine his light into the darkness. Ask the Lord to bring a Godly pastor to your church and for the people to be willing to follow HIM.
2. Annoint - annoint the doors, windows throughout the church. Asking the Lord to bar all the demonic from entering through them. Annoint the sanctuary, especially the "Holy Things" and the pews, asking the Lord to bar all that is "Unholy." Give the Holy Spirit permission to change and purify all who come into contact of the annointed things.
3. Hold to God's word: Satan is under our feet, Even the gates of Hell cannot prevail against the church, the blood of Jesus is stronger than anything Satan can through at us. Use Scripture, ask the Lord to give you one to use in this attack.

QUESTION: Thank you. What should be used to ? Would you please give me a list of scripture to study or recite during this special event.
AnswerBlessings and thank you for your followup:
Try using the following:
2 Chronicles 7:14
Remind everyone who is participating that our prayers can be hindered if we have unresolved sin in our lives: Psalem 66:18; Isaiah 58:2; Matthew 5:23-24; Proverbs 21:12, James 1:5-8 and James 4:3
Then use the following:
2 Chronicles 6:17-21, 40-41
Matthew 16:18
Mark 11:24
John 15:16
Ex 40:9
Romans 16:20
Eph 6:10-18
2 Cor. 2:10-11
