Do our relatives watch over us from heaven?  Please give Biblical references for your answer.

Hi L. Walker,
   It is a popular idea that our relatives are watching over us in heaven, but this idea is not found in God's word.    A Christian has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in their lives to guide and direct them.    Although the New Testament does not mention the ministry of angels in a Christian's life, most believe to some degree God may use angels.   A child of God has the God the Holy Spirit looking over him/her and we really do not need the help of dead relatives.
    I cannot find anywhere in God's word that our dead relatives are aware of what is happening on earth.  I think they are probably too busy serving the Lord there and enjoying being with our Savior and God.
