Question
QUESTION: "Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever;
and the bread that I shall give is my flesh,
for the life of the world."

ANSWER: I doubt you will find any Baptist who would not "believe" in the passage in John you cite.

However, you will find a lot of different opinions (interpretations) as to what this particular passage means.

QUESTION: are they not being hypocritical though in NOT giving a LITERAL translation of this, when they constantly do this with other passages....

Answer
While some Baptists do make a big deal of proclaiming a literal Bible, even the most fundamentalist of Baptists (or any other denomination) do not interpret everything in the Bible literally. And yes, some literalists are hypocrites when it comes to interpreting the Bible (although few Christians of any theological stripe are entirely consistent in how they interpret the Bible).
