Question
Hey,
Is there a place in the bible where it says we should allow ourselves to get hurt? And also, is there a place that says we should protect ourselves from getting from other people?
Thank you!!

Answer
Hi Nathan,

Thank you for sending me this question and I hope you are well.

I do not know of any place in the bible where it says we should allow ourselves to be hurt [not sure if you mean physically or mentaly?] So I am not really to sure of your question.

Our feelings will often be hurt by others and sometimes it will appear so by God, when we think our prayers have not been answered.

On both counts it is all down to how we percieve the actions taken or not taken against us, but we have to feel hurt so as to know how others feel when we hurt them.

We also have to remember that we have to forgive them that tresspass against us, so as to be forgiven ourselves.

I hope this helps, if not please come back to me and clarify your question, so I may be of more help.

God Bless

Expertise

I can answer most questions on the subject of the Baptist/Christian faith. I am an active member of a Baptist Church Fellowship. I study the Bible and the Scriptures every day and have no problem talking to people about this. I am more than happy to answer the Lord's calling and help and support all people that are in need. I believe that is now my role in life.

Experience

Some times people go the wrong way in life because they have been let down by those that are close to them. It is all about trust, compassion and support. I carry out a lot of outreach work, so I know how important these things are to be able to reach people. I have worked with drug addicts and the homeless, as well as young people who have lost their way in life or are in prison.

Past/Present Clients
I do not call them clients, they are people in need of the love of God and of people. I have mentored many young people, including those that are in our local prison, to hopefully live an honest and Christian life.
