Question
WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF THIS DISASTER IN HAITI? WAS GOD'S HAND IN THIS, OR WAS IT THE DEVIL, OR JUST AN INCIDENT FROM MOTHER NATURE.
I AM SO CONCERNED ABOUT THE PEOPLE THERE, AND I'M WONDERING IF THE SAME MIGHT HAPPEN HERE IN THE USA, NOT NECESSARILY AN EARTHQUAKE, BUT SOME KIND OF DISASTER OF BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS, AND IF IT DOES WILL IT BE FULFILLMENT OF THE BIBLE? THIS SEEMS LIKE GOD'S WAY OF WAKING US UP, GIVING US A SHAKE!
Charlotte, thank you for your question. We all need to be praying for the all the people of Haiti. We can be proud of the different Baptist Ministries as they are making a big presence in Haiti trying to help these people.
The earthquake was very large and the destruction is great. But this in not caused by God, Satan, but it was caused when two techtonic plates which slipped deep in the earth. Bad things happen to people in this world because of sin, which started in the Garden.
Jesus tells us that there will be earthquakes that will take place after His ascension in Matt. 24:7 states "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places." But these will also increase intensity before Jesus Second Coming.
So earthquakes are naturally going to happen. Charolotte, you stated "I'M WONDERING IF THE SAME MIGHT HAPPEN HERE IN THE USA." You can bank on it. We have apostasy in the church, God has been taken out to the School and Courthouse, we are killing innocent babies, and 1 Tim. 4:1 is coming true. We need to get on our knees before Almighty God, repent and come back to HIM. God maybe judging us now. Look at the screwed up President and Congress we have at this present time.

I have over 27 years of experience doing ministry as a bivocational minster/professional nurse. I do ministry as a volunteer with ministries that are nonprofit and not able to pay for ministers. I have experience working with youth, children, elderly in different placement settings, mentally ill and mentally challenged in different settings, felons in state prison and county jails, hospital chaplancy, choir ministry, and deacon ministry. I am an ordained SBC minister. I am a Professional Chaplain. I am currently doing hospital minstry, ministry to shut-ins, and a chaplain with Victim Relief Ministry working with victims of diasters and domestic violence. I work as psychiatric nurse in large county jail system.
