Question
my question is I am a finance broker, I really don't make any income until I close on a loan. I usually charge some kind of fee in upfront for my work in helping my investor and some of that fee goes to the investor. My question is on the upfront fee because I might have to give some of it back if the loan does not fund or really for various reasons I am somewhat in limbo on some of the money that I hold in my business account. OF the monies I pay myself to my personal account is that what I pay the 10% on?
Does giving to the poor, or a friend in need or even a mother(mine) who could use a subsidy to live on each month count in the tithing?

Also these loans I am trying to close have "stalled" and I feel the lord has stalled them because although I tith anywhere from 400-1000.00 a month the commissions if closed would be in the 500,000 range and feel my current tithing is not enough or justified in me recieving thise kind of blessing although if it did happen tithings would go up. Am I right in assuming this?

Answer
Hi Michael,

First of all thank you for the question and my apologies for a late reply.

I will do my best to help you with this but my knowledge on this subject is not too good.

Tithing is only actually mentioned 3 - 4 times in the New Testament, and 10% is the amount mentioned. But there are some people that Tithe to benefit themselves only by ways of scam etc, and have become wealthy.I think that this should come out of your personal account.

You are completely transparent in your question and I can see that this does not apply to you as you are an honest man, if not you would not have this concern.

The Apostles encouraged believers to give to the poor and needy and that really is what Tithing is.

Only you will know in your own mind if you are giving enough, but you obviously have a good and Christian heart.
Do what your heart and mind tells you and you will be blessed.

Regards and God Bless

Expertise

I can answer most questions on the subject of the Baptist/Christian faith. I am an active member of a Baptist Church Fellowship. I study the Bible and the Scriptures every day and have no problem talking to people about this. I am more than happy to answer the Lord's calling and help and support all people that are in need. I believe that is now my role in life.

Experience

Some times people go the wrong way in life because they have been let down by those that are close to them. It is all about trust, compassion and support. I carry out a lot of outreach work, so I know how important these things are to be able to reach people. I have worked with drug addicts and the homeless, as well as young people who have lost their way in life or are in prison.
