Question
The Eucharist which Christ commanded to be celebrated to the end of time is faithfully obeyed in the Catholic Church. If you would take the time to read the Eucharisic prayers of the Mass you would see it's the Holy Spirit that causes transubstantiation not the priest. John 6:63-71 states it is the Spirit that gives life while the flesh is of no avail. Judas didn't believe in the Eucharist either. If the Holy Spirit could come over the Blessed Virgin Mary (Luke 1:32-37) and give us the Incarnate God Jesus Christ why can't that same Holy Spirit change bread and wine into the same Incarnate Christ's body and blood? In John 6:55 Christ the Truth states that his flesh is true food and blood true drink, and he told his Apostles to eat and drink at the Last Supper. Is there anything impossible for God? If so what is it?

Answer
Glen,
My purpose is to present what the Bible teaches accurately and with compromise.  I know that the RCC has many practices that are unique to its members.   It is not difficult to find where most of their practices originated.   Historically, the early churches did not have the practices of the RCC which only came into being around 400 BC.  That includes the practice of the Eucharist (transubstaniation).
As my article states, in John 6, Jesus was addressing the Jews and presenting Himself at their Messiah who would bring in the promised Kingdom.   He absolutely did not mean that Christians had to eat his flesh and drink His blood.  He was using a metaphor meaning they had to accept Him as their Savior.  If you read the first ten chapters of John that truth is clear.
I will not argue about it and do not in this limited forum have the ability to explain the matter in greater detail.

Let me ask you a question....?  When you take the Eucharist, what do you think occurs.   What does it mean as to you in regard to yours sins and salvation?
Compare you answer with Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Are you doing a "work" in taking the Eucharist and do you think that helps you with your salvation?
Can you tell me if when you die you will go to heaven?  If you think you will, or will not can you explain your reasons.
You might like to take your Bible and look up the passage found in my article at http://bible-truth.org/gospel.html that is an explanation of God's plan of salvation.
Thank you for you question...I hope this points you in the right direction. I would like to help you with this as best I can.
