QuestionHello. I confessed Jesus about a year ago. However, I live and home and I can't drive yet so going to church is very difficult for me to do. Will I lose my salvation because of this. Also, I feel like my faith is too little. Any help?
AnswerHi Darlene
I sincerely apologize for being so slow to response. Our church is trying to purchase property and have run into problems with financing. I have been totally consumed in working with this for the past several weeks. It is still not resolve although we are praying for the Lord's intervention. Please accept my apology.
You will not lose your salvation because you can't attend church. Our salvation is received by faith and we cannot earn it with our good works or merit it in any way. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8)
We cannot work for our salvation nor can we keep it by our good works. God says, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." (1 Peter 1:3-5)
Note the verse says ". . .Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time." Once we by faith trust in Jesus Christ as our Savior we become a child of God. God will not forsake His children. He knows we are weak and will often sin as 1 John 1:8-10 states, but He keeps us saved. Once we believe God gives us eternal life. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) God says that salvation gives us everlasting life...and that settles the matter.
However, if you cannot get to church because you cannot drive that is not sin. Sin is willfully disobeying the Lord. You want to go to church, but are hindered from doing so...therefore God understands.
Many people are being taught that a person can lose their salvation. I can assure you, by God's own word, that if you have trusted in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation you have everlasting and eternal salvation. There is no salvation that is not eternal. That is plainly what God's word says to us. Yes you can have absolute assurance of your salvation.
The fact that you are so concerned about assurance and knowing you will go to heaven shows that you are spiritually minded which is the mark of a true Christian. The lost or unsaved are not interested in the things of God. They do not ask God for forgiveness because they are not concerned about their sins. Being sorry for sins and repenting of them is what true believers do because the hate sin and want of overcome it in their lives.
I have written several articles that fully address what the Bible says about salvation and the biblical truth that it is eternal. You can find these articles at:
"Can a person know for sure that when he dies he will go to heaven?"

You can copy the link and paste it into your browser to read the articles.
As you read these articles I think you will see God's truth about the assurance of salvation.
I can honestly say that the devil wants us to be confused and wish to keep us from having the full joy and peace of our salvation. Those churches and individuals who teach the false doctrine that one can lose their salvation do not understand God's salvation and are being used to enslave people in a sea of doubt. It certainly is not "Baptist" heresy as many Bible believing Christians also believe and teach "Once saved, Always saved."
Please, if you have further questions after you read the articles please write. It is very important that you get this matter settled and I will do all I can to show you what God says about assurance of salvation.
God bless and guide you as you seek God's truth and the full assurance of your salvation as a child of God.
