QUESTION: what do Baptist believe about the timing of the rapture?
ANSWER: Don, to the best of my knowledge most Baptists are Pre-Trib. There some Mid and Post Trib folks among us and there is at least one lad here in TX that believes the faithful will be raptured Pre-Trib but the carnal or backslidden will have to go through the Trib.

QUESTION: what do Independent fundamentalist baptist beleive about the timing of the rapture?
No one can really speak for all Baptists because often it ends up with what the particular school or even pastor believes on the subject but the bulk of IFBs are Pre-Trib. We do have some of the others but they are few. Southern Baptists have more Mid and Post-Tribs. There may even be some who don't believe in the Trib period let alone a Rapture.
