Baptists/Baptist Church Names

Question
I have been wondering for a while where the word "Heights" comes from in the names of some of the Baptist churches.  Within a few miles of my home there is a community named Lithia Springs with Lithia Heights Baptist Church; there is also the community of Burnt Hickory with Hickory Heights Baptist church; and the community of Oakland with Oakland Heights Baptist Church.  These are just to name a few.  None of the churches around me of other demoninations have this in their names.  Where does this come from?

Answer
Hi John,

Hope you are well, I did put this question back into the question pool, but as it keeps coming back to me, I can only think that no one has answered it.

All I can say is that I honestly do not know, I am in England and where I live I do not know of any Baptist church that has Heights in its name.

So perhaps it a term or name that is just peculiar to your neck of the woods etc.

I know this is no help at all, but I did not want you thinking that your question has been ignored.

I hope that another expert can tell you the answer!

Regards and God Bless

Expertise

I can answer most questions on the subject of the Baptist/Christian faith. I am an active member of a Baptist Church Fellowship. I study the Bible and the Scriptures every day and have no problem talking to people about this. I am more than happy to answer the Lord's calling and help and support all people that are in need. I believe that is now my role in life.

Experience

Some times people go the wrong way in life because they have been let down by those that are close to them. It is all about trust, compassion and support. I carry out a lot of outreach work, so I know how important these things are to be able to reach people. I have worked with drug addicts and the homeless, as well as young people who have lost their way in life or are in prison.

Past/Present Clients
I do not call them clients, they are people in need of the love of God and of people. I have mentored many young people, including those that are in our local prison, to hopefully live an honest and Christian life.
