Question
Thank you for your time Pastor. You have answered a number of questions in the past and have been extremely helpful to me with my studies.  My question today is not doctrinal at face value, but has been brought up a couple of times doctrinally in my home bible study.  When the letters -ETH- are added to certain verbs in our KJV bibles does it have any particular meaning or does it change the action or function of that verb?

Answer
Hi Scott,
Thank you for your encouragement.  It is uplifting to know some are helped by the articles and answers.  "He that believeth is saved,"  would mean the moment the person believes God saves him.  Using the eth on a verb is puts as strong emphasis showing the immediateness of the action, like an exclamation point.  This is why I like the KJV.  The modern English translations do not show this element of the Greek verb.
God bless you writing.  If you have further questions please write.
