Question
dear sire
In Acts 2:38
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 8:16
because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus

Acts 10:48
And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ

Acts 8:12
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ they were baptized both men and.

and
Baptism was the name of Jesus and the disciples were all baptized in Jesus' name had not heard of Christ or the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit.
How far is the baptism name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit?
Gospel of Matthew and said a formula contrary to the apostles of Christ,so it was incorrect and false

Answer
Hi Janet,

Thank you for this interesting question.  I am sorry for my late response.  Let us consider a few truths:

1.  ALL of God's word is true, therefore there are no contradictions.  If it seems like there is, then we know we have not understood the passage correctly.

2 Timothy 3:16 (AV)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2.  So we know that Matthew 28:19-20 does not contadict the passages that say we should be baptized in the name of Jesus.  How can this be?

3.  The Bible tells us that Jesus is the fullness of the Godhead bodily.  In other words... He is a visable picture of the entire Trinity.

Colossians 2:9 (AV)
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

An Old Testament prophecy speaking of the Christ child clearly referred to all three persons of the Trinity being wraped up in this little baby.

Isaiah 9:6 (AV)
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Wonderful, counsellor = the ministry of the Holy Spirit
The Mighty God - this baby is called the Mighty God!
The everlasting father - Jesus is called the father!  (John 14:9)
The prince of peace = prince is the son of a king.

This verse showes that Jesus is the embodiment of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

3.  With these principles in mind to Baptize in all three Names of the Trinity is to Baptize in the name of Jesus.  They are interchangable.

I hope that this helps you.
