Baptists/Sacred Scripture

Question
Dear Brendan,
Do the Baptist's read the entire Bible in Church on a 3 year cycle like the Catholic Church does?

Answer
Glen,

Thank you for the question.  No the Baptist church does not have an official stance on how often the Bible should be read but most of the churches I have attended within the Baptist denomination suggest a one year personal reading plan as opposed to 3.  This is what I currently do myself.  In terms of reading the Bible within the church services; we generally follow the plan of the pastor of the church.  For example, some pastors follow a topical plan where each week we discuss a particular topic or subject and read the sections of the Bible where those subjects are found in the scriptures.  And on the other hand; sometimes a survey of a book will be the route a pastor takes where he does go through the Bible book by book.  Thank you for your question and please feel free to respond with follow up questions.
