Question
Hello Mrs.Lyons, hope things are going well for you.Within the last year or so some problems between our Minister and the congregation have gotten so far out of hand that they have not only turned some of the congregation against one another but the Minister decided she would resign.Honestly (and I shoulden't say this)but at the moment I think some of us are having a hard time forgiving one another.Do you mind sharing some of your thoughts on the forgiving process. Thanks, and may God Bless You.
John.

Answer
Problems usually get out of hand when folks don't read their bibles and depend on a 'minister' to 'feed' them.
The Matthew 18 principal is often overlooked completely when working out situations.
Christians should never hear from another about another.  The one offended should speak privately with the offender.  If nothing is resolved by this, take a brother or two with you.
If there is still no progress, then it is to go before the Church (other believers) to handle this with God's Word.
It's very dangerous to refuse to forgive someone.  The Bible is clear that if you can't forgive, then you can't be forgiven.  Perhaps, these are really weak Christians who haven't read His
Word, or maybe they haven't had a saving experience and need God to control their life.
A question for you.  How do you support the idea of having a woman pastor using the Word of God?
Anyway, I pray that things will work out in this situation.  If there's more that you need that is unanswered, let me know.
Have a good day..  Read you Bible.  Consider it Spiritual food, as important as physical food.

Expertise

I have time for you. The Bible has been my guiding light for most of the 56 years of my life. My missionary parents in Brazil kindled a love for God`s Word by their example and their love for truth. The Lord has blessed my husband and me with responsible, independent children who love and serve the Lord and are our best friends. I would enjoy discussing any subject or problem from a Biblical perspective.

Experience

I help lead music in a small Southern Baptist Church. Although I rarely have the opportunity to play, I do play the bass guitar, drums, tambourine, harmonica and piano. I like Southern Gospel and praise choruses, but only know by heart the words from the hymnal, and my vocal range is half an octave lower than most music is written, but fortunately my husband transposes well and also plays by ear.
