Baptists/marriage

Question
I've been reading a lot about the Mormon leader that is being prosecuted for marrying children. They keep saying that it says in the bible that a girl should marry at twelve and that is their religious right. I would like to know if they read that in the Mormon bible or is that in the king James. If it is in the king James I would like to know where to find it. Thank you for any information you can give me about this.

Answer
Sandy:

Thank you for your question. I do not know from which  "bible" they derive that teaching, but it is not found in the KJB. I'm not even sure it is in the Book of Mormon but I could be mistaken about that.  Although there is no set age for marriage in the Bible, there is nowhere that says it must happen at 12.

Additionally, the practice of polygamy (having multiple wives), is not Biblical either. Although it was done in the Bible it was against the law of God that  demanded that "a man leave his father and his mother and cleave unto his wife" (one man and one woman).

Hope this helps.
