Baptists/Sins

Question
If you live with someone; but don't have sex; is it still a sin? And will you go to Hell?

Answer
Dear Connie,
Everyone is headed to Hell because we have all sinned.  But God has provided the Way to live with Him forever, so no one has to continue the path to Hell.  If we are willing to surrender ourself to God, if we want to follow Jesus as our Lord, then Jesus pays for our sins with His own death and resurrection, then He lives in us to strengthen and guide us to do His will.  If Jesus wanted you to not live with someone, whether sex was involved or not, would you trust Him to guide you?  Would you trust Him to know more than you about what would be best for your life?  Or would you rather be guided only by your own feelings?
If you do trust Jesus and have decided to follow Him, then reading the Bible, praying, and listening to other Christians who know your situation, will help you know what God wants you to do.
If you know what God wants you to do, but don't think you can do that, then it helps to read Galatians 2:20, "I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, Who lived me, and gave Himself for me."  It's like pulling a plug to let ME drain out, and opening a plug to let God fill me up.
I pray this will encourage you to trust Jesus.
   Love,
   Priscilla

Expertise

I have time for you. The Bible has been my guiding light for most of the 56 years of my life. My missionary parents in Brazil kindled a love for God`s Word by their example and their love for truth. The Lord has blessed my husband and me with responsible, independent children who love and serve the Lord and are our best friends. I would enjoy discussing any subject or problem from a Biblical perspective.

Experience

I help lead music in a small Southern Baptist Church. Although I rarely have the opportunity to play, I do play the bass guitar, drums, tambourine, harmonica and piano. I like Southern Gospel and praise choruses, but only know by heart the words from the hymnal, and my vocal range is half an octave lower than most music is written, but fortunately my husband transposes well and also plays by ear.
