Good Day

What dies the bible mean when its says we are not to love the whole, I mean if you don't love/like anything in this world then it would be very suicidal

Gawynne, you are correct we are not to love the world. James 4:4 tells us "You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God." You can not be friends with people in the world who hate God, despises Him, curses His holy name and is hostile toward Him. If you are friends with the world then you become an enemy of God. You can not be friends of this world and be friends with God at the same time. Math. 6:24 tells us you can not serve two masters. You will love one and hate the other.

James is calling this ungodly, god hating world adulters and includes harlots in this also. Jeremiah 3:6 calls ungodly Israel as harlots. The text states "The Lord said to me in the days of Josiah, the king, 'Have you seen what faithless Israel did? She went up on every high hill, under every green tree, she was a harlot there and I thought after she had done all these things, she will return to Me. But she didn't return and her treacherous sister Judah saw it, southern kingdom, and I saw that for all the adulteries of faithless Israel, I sent her away and gave her a writ of divorce.' And yet her treacherous sister Judah didn't fear, she went and was a harlot also. It came about because of the lightness of her harlotry that she polluted the land and committed adultery with stones and trees."

No, we can be friends with the ungodly world and as we will become enemies of the God.

I hope this helps.
