Baptists/church service distraction

Greetings in Christ!

Recently i became a member of bible baptist church where i live here in philippines.  I have notice that everytime our pastor preach during sunday service, there are some member of the church that bang their bible, creating a loud noise which distract some members, and sometimes they kick the floor that create really a loud noise.  I asked the pastor n he told me that it  is biblical n in old testament to make a loud noise in rejoicing in the
Lord.  I have always attend in sunday service of bible baptist church n they are really solemn and not noisy n it is me first time i encounter this situation.

My question is:
Do we still really have to make a loud noise like banging the bible in our time when in church sunday service or is it only in old testament?

For the meantime since i am so distracted and not bless anymore during sunday service i decided to go to another baptist church which is so quite n solemn.

Please advice

In Christ,

Hi August,
God says "Let all things be done decently and in order." (1 Corinthians 14:40)  Someone who disturbs the service is being out of order.   The preaching service is a time of worship, to honor God, to be taught in the word.   As you have experienced if someone is making noise and causing a distraction it impedes truth worship and meditation on the message from God's word.
Some who cause the disturbance believe they are by that actions agreeing and supporting the message, but is it really of any benefit.   Some just want to be heard and seen.
The statement to "make a joyful noise into the Lord" does not mean to be distracting and bringing attention to oneself and hindering others from worship.
However, churches and pastor that allow this will probably not change.   It may be better to leave and find a church that honors the Lord.
"Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation." (Zechariah 2:13)  The word silent means to hold one's peace and be silent and quiet.
