Baptists/The Apocrypha

Question
Why is the above named translation not included in the  King James Version in American Bibles?  thank you.

Answer
Hi Marshall,

The Apocrypha is not included in the King James Bible because it did not meet the historical tests of cannonicity.  In other words, the writings were not referred to in other parts of the Bible as "scripture", they teach doctrines that are contradictory to other scripture, and the preserved manuscripts copied out of Antioch, Syria known as the Testus Receptus, did not include the apocrapha.  The heretical copies that came out of Alexandria Egypt known as the critical texts, may have contained these works, but we do not accept these as being the preserved Word of God.

I hope that I have helped you.

In Christ,
Pastor Don

Expertise

I believe that every word of the Bible is God-Breathed. This blessed book is the foundation of truth for faith and practice. If you ask this volunteer a question you will receive an answer from the Bible that is based upon a litteral, normal interpretation, taking into account the grammar and culture of the time.

Experience

I have been in the ministry almost 20 years. During this time, the Lord has used me as Senior Pastor, counsellor, youth pastor and generally in the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry.
