Question
Hello Mr. Cooper.  I read your article on the Minority vs. Majority text.  I was wondering where was the Greek of the "Modern King James" Version taken from?  Was it the Minority or Majority text?  Thanks!

Hi Gregory,
  The New King James Bible used the same Greek text as the 1611 KJV.  The problem with the NKJV is that the translators used what is called dynamic equvalency instead of making a literal translation.  Although they used the TR (Textus Receptus) they applied some of the same methods as did the modern translators who based  their version on the Westcott-Hort text. Basically what resulted was a fair translation in modern English, but not a completely accurate  or literal one.   The KJV is still a superior literal translation.
