Question
Why did the Early churches call themselves the Church of Christ in the book of Romans?

Answer
Blessings and thank you for your question.

First of all the word church originally meant: fellowship.  So the church was the fellowship of CHrist.  It was many years later that "churches" were established.  It took several hundred years before churchs started to set up buildings to worship in.   In that day and time, there was only 1 universal church.  We were not divided into differents types of churches.  In Fact the word catholic means universal.
