What would be some major problems in studying the doctrine of God?

 Hi Cindy,  Thanks for your question. A serious major problem in studying theology would be that you began with a misguided or unbelieving premise or tried to limit an explanation of God to human understanding.   I have an article at http://bible-truth.org/Trinity.html which explains the biblical doctrine of the Trinity in practical terms.  It deals with God's essence as related to the Trinity.
   The Bible begins with the premise that "God is." Gen. 1:1.   This is the concept of the statement that God made to Moses when he ask who was sending him to free Israel from the Egyptians.   God said...tell them "I am" is sending you.   To understand God we begin with the absolute that God is.
   I am a little curious as to the reason for you question.  Are you writing a paper..?
