Baptists/Eternal Security

Question
You believe that once a person becomes a Christian, he can never be lost. However, let's ponder on a thought. If you are tempted by satan such as into comitting an act of adultery and you die in the act, how can you believe that you are still going to heaven? The Eternal security thing has always been a perplexing thought for me. Thanks.

Answer
Jesus did not condemn to hell the woman caught in the act of adultery, although the religious leaders stood ready to send her to hell by stoning her (John 8). And nowhere does the Bible say that one who is currently guilty of sin is automatically destined to hell. In fact, according to your logic, since gluttony is a biblical sin (go to http://www.biblebb.com/files/tniv/GLUTTONY.TXT for references), anyone who dies while obese should not expect to go to heaven.

If all sinners are condemned to hell, then all Christians are destined for hell, because not one of us is currently living a sin-free life in every respect.
