An atheist does not believe in God. Any referance or quotation from Bile-the words of God- would not be convincing evidence for such a person.The point needs to be proved scientifically or logically.

Hi Ijaz,

Thanks for your question.  I will do my best to try and answer this briefly.  You are welcome to ask follow up questions if the need be.

What I can do is offer evidence suggesting the existance of God and contrast that with the common presuppositions of the athiests that I know.  There are many unseen forces that have been accepted by science to exist because the evidnce for their existance is overwhelming.  Gravity for example, always existed, even before Sir Isaac Newton bonked himself on his head with an apple.  If one decides not to believe in gravity....he still cannot fly...because gravity exists...and there is evidence of that existance.

There are several things that I can cite as reason to believe in a Creator God.

1.  THe universe has perfect design
2.  The world has a perfectly ballenced eco-system, suggesting design.
3.  Man, in every culture, has adopted some morals and laws that are universal, suggesting common grace, or the fact that man was created in the image of God.  Every man seems to have a god-shaped vacuum in their hearts.
4.  The Bible has been proven to be scientifically accurate in many ways:

-  There is evidence of a global flood in every ancient religion and writing

- Job, the oldest book in the Bible speaks of the earth as being round and hanging upon nothing.... a concept way ahead of its time.

-  Psalms speak of ocean currents.

-  King Nebuchadnezar was thought to be a myth until archeologuists found overwheling proof of his existance in ancient babylon.

-  God has promised to preserve every word of the Bible, and we find a group of over 5,000 hand written manuscripts originating our of Antioch Syria and these many copies speak with one voice.... with no evidence of revisions or corruption!

Now let us consider how science muyst be ignored in order to believe that there is no God and that all we see has come through evolution and the big bang theory:

1.  We must assume that everything existed for billions of years....rocks are eternal.... yet the only evidence if that is based upon the presupposition of evolution.

2.  For an explosion to result in a perfectly formed universe, and a complex eco-system to evolve out of primordial ooze, one must abolish the second law of thermodynamics which states that left alone, everything goes from order to chaos.

3.  Hundreds of years ago science has disproven the theory of spontanious generation....life coming from non-life....yet now for evolution to stand a chance....we must BY FAITH believe that there was an exception to that rule.  There has never been any evidence for evolution or spontanious generation.  In the lab they could create amino acids....but NOT LIFE!!

4.  It is inscientific to point to micro-evolution within a species as evidence of macro-evolution across species!  This takes FAITH!! NOT SCIENCE!

I could go on....but I am not as well read on this subject as some.  Notice what the Apostle Paul said on this subject.  Evidence of God is seen in creation....and in order to discount such evidence men will become scientific fools!

Hello Again

I understand that an athiest does not believe in God or the credibility of the Bible....but there is nothing in your belief that prevents you from considering all possible options.... if one chooses to adopt a belief without carefully considering all evidence.... then he is closed minded is he not?  All I am asking that you do is to consider which system makes more sense...the one with God or without God.... it takes more faith to be an athiest considering the evidence.  Again I urge that you consider Strobel's book referenced in the last post.

By the way.... if you do not believe in God...then you do not believe that God had anything to do with the Bible...and therefore you can examine it as an ancient piece of literature....do so, and see what that literature suggests.
