Baptists/The Gospel Narratives

Question
QUESTION: Hello. I understand that the Gospels are quite historical. I want to ask you this, how do we know that they are truthful? I could write four other narratives about how I meet Santa Claus and boiled and ate eggs with the Easter Bunny. Then two-thousand years later, people discover it. Sure, it's historical, but not truthful. How do we know if the Gospels are truthful and not just made-up?

ANSWER: Joe,

Christian greetings! Please accept my sincerest apology for such a late reply. I
have been so busy with work, school, family, church, ect..

Now to your question about the Gospels, and whether they are true, or simply made
up. Joe, as you can imagine, the answer to this question could be rather lengthy. In
saying this, instead of me giving you a long answer, I am going to give you a few
web sites that go into great detail about this very subject.

QUESTION: Are you related to Madden? You know, the football guy? I'll definetely check those out, and thank you for those resources. You seem to have a job and a half, so may God be with you with all of that.

Answer
Joe,

I was pleased to read that you will be taking a look at the sites I suggested to you. You will see what I mean about being a "lengthy" subject, and therefore suggested you read the site for yourself. And yes, I am too busy! But I do thank the Lord Jesus for having a great wife and kids, the strength to work, favor with those in authority over me, the honor of ministring His Word, and most of all for the amazing grace God has poured out through the Cross of Christ upon me. Can I get an amen Joe?!?

You asked if I was related to John Madden. You mean Uncle John? Just kidding. Nope, I only wish I was!

Please let me know what you think after reading these sites. I am interested in knowing if they help.

God Bless!

Experience

I attended a fundamental independent Baptist church for many years. While attending the church I learned the doctrines and beliefs of the Baptist movement. I now attend an independent Pentecostal church. I have served there as an Elder for fourteen years. I minister in song with the choir and worship team. I am also the new member’s class coordinator, men's ministry director, and the Harvest Riders motorcycle ministry president.
In 1993 the Lord called me to "...preach the Gospel where ever I open the door..." I have had the privilege of ministering God's Word to churches in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. In those meetings we have seen the Lord save, heal, deliver, and fill people will His Spirit.

Organizations
I am ordained through Harvest Church, and with the World Harvest Ministerial Fellowship. I also am a licensed minister with the State of Oklahoma.

Education/Credentials
I am currently enrolled with the Ames Bible College.
