Question
What are the differences between the offerings of the old testament. In particular the burnt offering and the peace offering?

A quick summary of the two you specifically spoke is that the burnt offering was completely consumed on the altar. It was completely for God. It was indicative of entire consecration to God. This is as we should be.
The peace offering was given voluntarily to show gratitude and fellowship with God. The dictionary will give you good summaries of all the offerings. Should that study evoke a specific question please come back to me. I like to point people to resources so that can study other issues as well.
