Baptists/Satan

Question
A Sunday school teacher I know recently told me about an interesting question she was asked by one of her young students. The child asked why6 God created Satan, knowing that he would cause such trouble for mankind. My friend said something about how God wanted us to be able to enjoy a relationship with Him based on choice, not force. What do you think of this answer?

Answer
Andrew,

Well the teacher had a close answer. God created the angel which was Lucifer and because of his pride he fell and pulled a 1/3 of all the angels with him. God does want us to have a choice and has given man a choice from the beginning with Adam and Eve. Satan has been allowed to operate on the earth and has caused a lot of suffering. We have to remember that God is and always has been in complete control. Satan is only allowed to do what God lets him do which may be hard to grasp. Read the book of Job this may give you a better perspective on Satan and what he is allowed to do and how he operates in this and the spiritual world.

God Bless
