QuestionDr. Kryger
I know that Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
But Genesis 3:22,24 tells about the Tree of Life.
What was it? and what was it's signifecance?
thanks
Bob
AnswerBob:
Thank you for your question. There were a number of trees in the Garden of Eden, but two specifically are mentioned: the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the purpose of which is pretty much explained by the name, and the Tree of Life. The Tree of Life was in a prominent place in the Garden, being seen by Adam and Eve on a daily basis, and was a pledge of that immortal life with which obedience should be rewarded. Man lost, on his fall, all claim to this tree. Therefore, that he might not eat of the tree or delude himself with the idea that eating of it would restore what he had forfeited, the Lord ejected him from the garden and set two angels to guard the entrance.
Hope this helps.
